
A Venezia con Tokidoki: toy in edizione limitata ispirata a uno dei cuccioli di Peggy Guggenheim.
A Venezia alla Collezione Peggy Guggenheim è di scena il mondo dei toy, grafici e pop, con la presentazione di Cappuccino, un cucciolo di Lhasa Apso, la razza canina preferita dalla collezionista d’arte americana Peggy Guggenheim. Il “giocattolo” è una vera limited edition prodotta in soli 300 esemplari numerati da TOKIDOKI, marchio specializzato nella creazione di questi toy di ispirazione giapponese.
Il cucciolo di Peggy Guggenheim ha anche ispirato una linea di divertenti t-shirt, che insieme al toy saranno vendute nello shop del museo. Sono inoltre diversi i richiami di Cappuccino alla Collezione Peggy Guggenheim e alla città di Venezia: il toy è rappresentato su un piedistallo con decorazioni a forma di testa di leone, che richiamano le decorazioni di Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, sede del museo, e la sua posa con le braccia aperte ricorda quella de L'Angelo della città di Marino Marini, opera che si trova sulla terrazza del museo affacciata sul Canal Grande.
Inoltre sulla T-shirt indossata da questo originale personaggio sono rappresentati gli occhiali a forma di farfalla resi celebri da Peggy Guggenheim e disegnati per lei dall’artista Edward Melcarth. Questa non è la prima collaborazione di TOKIDOKI, che in giapponese significa "a volte", un brand nato nel 2005 dalla visione creativa dell’artista italiano Simone Legno insieme agli imprenditori Pooneh Mohajer e Ivan Arnold.
Dal suo debutto a oggi TOKIDOKI ha creato una serie di personaggi iconici dalle grafiche manga pop e ha collaborato con brand e designer che spaziano da Hello Kitty a Karl Lagerfeld, da Barbie a Onitsuka Tiger, tanto per citarne alcuni. Simone Legno, direttore creativo e co-fondatore di tokidoki, ha inoltre voluto celebrare questa nuova collaborazione con una video-animazione ispirata alle avventure di Cappuccino, diretta dal regista Loris Lai.
La versione integrale sarà presentata in esclusiva durante l'evento di lancio e poi disponibile dal 13 settembre sulle pagine web e i social ufficiali di tokidoki e della Collezione Peggy Guggenheim.
